One Thousand Gifts (continued)

"Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made know to you" (John 15:15).
He was excited to have a friend over for the day. They had lots of fun together. I am so grateful for my children's friends and for my friends as well.

 This reminded my of the hymn, "What a friend we have in Jesus". He is the best friend that we could possibly have. He's perfect, faithful, shares our sorrows, knows our weakness, carries our burdens, shields us, and gives us peace! All we have to do is take it to the Lord in prayer.

 I love the lines, "O what peace we often forfeit, o what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer"!

Thank-you, Jesus for hearing our prayers, taking our pain, and giving us peace!

526. What a Friend We Have in Jesus

Text: Joseph M. Scriven, 1820-1886 Music: Charles C. Converse, 1832-1918 1. What a friend we have in Jesus,

 all our sins and griefs to bear!
 What a privilege to carry
 everything to God in prayer!
 O what peace we often forfeit,
 O what needless pain we bear,
 all because we do not carry
 everything to God in prayer.

2. Have we trials and temptations?
 Is there trouble anywhere?
 We should never be discouraged;
 take it to the Lord in prayer.
 Can we find a friend so faithful
 who will all our sorrows share?
 Jesus knows our every weakness;
 take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
 cumbered with a load of care?
 Precious Savior, still our refuge;
 take it to the Lord in prayer.
 Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
 Take it to the Lord in prayer!
 In his arms he'll take and shield thee;
 thou wilt find a solace there.

Continuing to give thanks...

Loved that camel!!!
Gorgeous pic of Deborah turning from behind. So sweet. How did Jesse get such curly hair? Did I miss something?
